I don't get it. She's upset because she has to live like I live, in some cheap apartment, taking public transportation and pinching pennies? I know I'm supposed to be compassionate, but I don't get how I should feel sorry for that.

I imagine there are a lot of grasshoppers out there rejoicing in the downfall of the ants. Shame on you, angryyoungwoman. Some of these little old ladies saved money all their lives so as not to be a burden to their children. Not all of them were fabulously wealthy.

I spent the holidays in North Palm Beach, visiting family. I will say this, given that county's large number of so-called investors: the consignment shops had lots of good stuff.

If you find yourself in Palm Beach, check out the Goodwill. I've never seen so much high-end crap in a thrift store. I found a dress worthy of a wedding for ... wait for it ... $15.60, after the 50% off. Sa-weet.
