Dr evil without the cute nickname.

He ditched his first wife, who waited for him and raised his children while he was a POW, for a 25 year old billionaire heiress. But it's worse. He left wife number 1 after she had an auto accident which left her with a limp and noticeably heavier to moved in with wife number 2, 25 and an heiress, 9 months prior to the divorce. But not to worry. It appears that Cindy, wife number 1, was well paid to take the fall.

McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year -- or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.

Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.

Remind me again what we're screaming aboui John Edwards about? Did Mr. Edwards cruelly dump Elizabeth? I think not.

Campaign finance reformer? Nah. He's a crook and got away with it.

McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981.[8] Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in lawful[14] political contributions from Keating and his associates.[15] In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln.[6][

I agree that what McCain did to his first wife was even worse than what Edwards did to his. That said, I think what people have a right to be really angry with Edwards over is that he continued campaigning after he knew that this politically dangerous secret was out there waiting to come out. If he had won the nomination and then this secret come out late in the Fall, right before the election, he could have blown our chance to have the Democratic party take the White House this time around. What nerve!

I totally agree that what Edwards did was stupid and reckless. But it ***INFURIATES ME**** that McCain is getting away scot-free with his own bad bad behavior. And many people don't know.

Yeah, it does seem like the media are being really gentle with McCain. He complains that Obama gets more attention, but so much of that attention is critical.

And now with the situation between Russia and Georgia, I have heard talking heads on TV giving McCain kudos for making vague suggestions about European summits and what-not. If Obama had done likewise no doubt they would have called him presumptuous again.
